Biomass and nutrient content in forest plantations of E. Urograndis (Ucayali)

The present investigation evaluated the biomass and the content of nutrients present in the Eucalyptus urograndis plantations, at 4 ages of growth (15, 34, 39 and 52 months) in four sites, located in the Padre Abad province, Ucayali region. To determine biomass production and nutrient storage, an individual was selected for each age, whose selection criterion was the average tree from the 500 m2 measurement plot. Using a destructive method, samples of 1 kg were obtained per vegetative element such as upper leaves, lower leaves, branches, bark, wood and root; which were analyzed by spectrophotometry in the determination of macro and micro elements. The result obtained for the biomass content by age is as follows: 15 months (23.79 tn / ha), 34 months (35.46 tn / ha), 39 months (74.18 tn / ha), 52 months (79.47 tn / ha). The difference in productivity (m3 / ha / year) is attributed to the quality of the site, management, genetic material and age. Regarding the extraction of nutrients, calcium was the element with the highest concentration on average over the 4 ages of growth, followed by potassium, nitrogen, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus. Likewise, nitrogen was the element that had the greatest presence in the leaves, especially in the upper leaves, but also one of the elements with greater mobility.
