Promoting the innovation of new products for the development of family farming in La Libertad region

The promotion of innovation through the Technological Institute of Production (ITP), allows to improve the competitiveness of the productive units, in addition to the strategies of growth and sustainable socioeconomic improvement in the long term. Innovation is the adoption of something new and original for an industry, or productive units dedicated to the various economic sectors. The objective of this study is to promote innovation and disseminate the work that the agricultural CITE CEDEPAS Norte has done with family farming, promoting the use of new technologies among members of cooperatives, associations and individuals with businesses and contributing with the generation of added value in the production of the provinces of Otuzco, Sánchez Carrión, Santiago de Chuco and Trujillo. The CITE, during the period from 2019 to 2021, has intervened in the La Libertad region in the value chains of: dairy products, potential chains and vegetables, within which it has developed yogurt with black mashua, provolone cheese, white delicacy flavored with coffee, ricotta cheese with mango jelly, sauce based on mochero chili with pepper, sauce based on mochero chili with asparagus, powdered dehydrated chili pepper, mochero chili-based liqueur for cocktails, mochero chili-based gourmet liqueur for gastronomy, vinegar based on mochero chili for gastronomy and bar enriched with heme iron. Innovation helps the different productive units to adopt development strategies with the elaboration of innovative products.
